About
Our story and inspiration.
At Beachcomb Creations, every piece I make tells a story from the shore — but behind each creation is my own journey, shaped by family, place, and a lifelong love of making things by hand.
What began as a simple passion for collecting sea glass, driftwood, and coastal treasures slowly grew into something more in December 2017, when my family encouraged me to share my work beyond friends and neighbours. With the idea of selling at a local Christmas fayre — and a name suggested by my son Jenson, Beachcomb Creations — my first stall was a wonderful success, and I haven’t looked back since.
I’ve always enjoyed working with my hands. Growing up around wood on my dad’s yard in Staffordshire gave me an early appreciation for craft. When I later moved to Pembrokeshire — a place full of childhood holiday memories — the driftwood washed up along the coastline became both my medium and my inspiration.
I work from home with the support (and patience!) of my partner and family. From jars of carefully sorted sea glass to driftwood soaking in the bath ready to be transformed, my creative process is very much a family affair — even if only I truly understand my system./
My designs are inspired by the natural beauty of the coast, with things like sea turtles, starfish and seahorses being some of my favourite sea glass creations.
I like to create things from driftwood which are not only decorative, but also practical, such as, driftwood and sea glass candle holders, wall plaques which can be used to hang your keys on and even dog leads and more.
I love learning new techniques, from drilling sea glass for jewellery to pyrography on wood. Each item is handcrafted with care, creativity, and sustainability in mind, turning nature’s forgotten fragments into meaningful keepsakes. Due to the nature of my materials, no two pieces are ever exactly the same.
For me, beachcombing isn’t just a hobby — it’s calming, therapeutic, and endlessly inspiring. I find joy in seeing beauty where others might not look. It's become quite the family affair, with even my granddaughter now joining me on the shore, searching for the next special find.
I still feel incredibly proud — and sometimes amazed — that people choose to welcome my work into their homes, with pieces now reaching as far as India, Ireland and Australia.
Whether you’re looking for a bespoke gift, a personalised item, I'm happy to discuss your ideas and happily create your something special to bring a little seaside charm into your home, Beachcomb Creations offers lovingly handmade pieces that carry a piece of the coast — and my story — with them.
